Kearns Improvement District’s billing system is very simple. We have four billing cycles, 1, 2, 3, & 4. Cycle 1 is the area east of the railroad tracks. Cycle 2 is the area between approximately 4800 West and 5600 West and 4700 South and 6200 South. Cycle 3 is all of Oquirrh Shadows, and Cycle 4 is all property located west of 5600 West and our commercial and industrial accounts. At the time you receive your bill you have approximately three to four weeks before it is due. The due date is always on a Monday (except holidays) and is shown on the top of your bill.
The amount due for water is based on actual water use during the month. The amount due for sewer is a flat rate plus $1.28 per 1,000 gallons of water used over the previous winter’s average. If you have just moved to the area and do not have previous winter usage, 7,000 gallons will be used for your average.
You will also note on your bill a Basic Service Fee which helps cover the cost of repairs and maintenance and a Special Water Fee that will be used to develop new water resources such as culinary water wells and secondary irrigation water.
